The 2023 Ontario Futsal Cup Finals continued over the weekend at Durham College in Oshawa with the U16 divisions. It was an intense weekend of competition which saw the eight teams from the U16 Boys division, divided into two groups, battle it out on Saturday, while five teams in one group competed in the U16 Girls division.

It was a tight affair in the Boy’s Finals that would be decided by one goal in favour of Unionville. In the win, Unionville would get goals from Adchaiyan Asokkanth, Drone Bassan and two goals from Varun Patwardhan. The opposing side, King United, would come up just short with goals from Demetri Kaloudis, Davin Chhoeun and Ethan Bick. Both teams would be assessed a caution in the contest.

The Girl’s Finals was also a tight affair that would be decided by a single goal in favour of Unionville. There goal scorer, Rebecca Stavropoulos, would net the only goal of the game to give Unionville the 1-0 victory. Scarborough would be assessed a caution and ejection in the game, a likely factor in the outcome.

The 2023 Ontario Futsal Cup Finals concludes on March 26 with the remainder of the divisions: U13, U14 and Men’s. The Men’s Finals will be livestreamed on the Ontario Soccer Twitch Channel.
